With 36-percent intermediate terrain compromising Telluride’s 2,000 acres, incredible ridgeline groomers with views of surrounding San Juan mountains and virtually no lift lines, Telluride intermediate skiing is unbeatable. Long, groomed intermediate runs are found all over Telluride mountain resort, allowing intermediate skiers to fully ski the mountain and enjoy its breathtaking beauty.
There’s few views in North America that can rival Telluride’s, and the intermediate groomed run See Forever is the cream of the crop. Meander for miles on this wide, pristine run that boarders the entire looker’s right side of the mountain. You can access the very top of See Forever from Revelation Express or Gold Hill Express and enjoy epic views of Telluride’s Bear Creek Basin off skier’s right and the surrounding box canyon. For more breathtaking scenery take Woozley’s Way to Prospect Express lift and ski down intermediate runs Sandia or Magnolia, be sure to look up the hill for a front-and-center view of the magnificent Palmyra Peak. The Polar Queen and Village Express lifts access several dozen blue-square runs if you’re looking to get in as many laps as possible. If you’re staying in town, or would like to grab a bite, take Lower Lookout from See Forever. Take in the incredible views of downtown Telluride, but be sure to turn onto Easy Out to avoid black diamond runs.
If it’s your first time skiing at Telluride Mountain Resort, be sure to take a complimentary “Meet the Mountain” tour. The tour meets in front of the trail map at the top of Coonskin Lift at 10 a.m., and lasts for two to three hours. Local experts will help familiarize you with Telluride’s intermediate skiing and provide tid bits on Telluride’s rich history.
