Carinthia Parks at Mount Snow, introduced in the 2008-2009 season, boasts ten terrain parks with both natural and man-made features, including a superpipe. Known for hosting the first Extreme Games in 1995 and the X Games in 2000 and 2001, Carinthia remains a hotspot for events like the Freeski Open and Carinthia Classic. In summer 2011, Mount Snow unveiled the Leitner-Poma high-speed six-pack bubble chairlift, whisking skiers to the summit in just seven minutes. This lift offers protection from wind and snow, ensuring a warm ride up.
As of 2022, Mount Snow features two high-speed detachable lifts to the 3,600-foot summit and six high-speed detachable chairlifts overall. With lifts servicing the Carinthia Base Area, Sunbrook base area, and the Main Base Area, Mount Snow ensures quick and comfortable access to its diverse slopes. How to get to Mount Snow
Just 1.5 hours from New York’s Albany airport, Mount Snow tops the list as one of the East’s easiest ski resorts to get to. Once you've landed in Albany you can opt for a ground transfer (bus or shuttle), or rent a car. Renting a car is a great option, as it allows you the freedom to explore the many sights and attractions in the Mount Snow area.
Getting around
Getting to the mountain is easy with the free local shuttle service, which has over 30 stops along the main routes, making it perfect for those who prefer not to drive, let alone deal with parking. Painted like Holstein cows, the MOOver serves the Mount Snow Valley with over 30 stops along Route 9/Route 100, from Wilmington to West Dover. It also provides convenient shuttle service within the Mount Snow base area during the winter season.
