Beginner Skiing in St. Anton am Arlberg

St. Anton am Arlberg may be famous for its challenging terrain, but beginners have plenty of space to explore, too. Nasserein is a particularly good starting point, with gentle practice areas and easy access from the village. Additional beginner-friendly terrain around Gampen allows new skiers to progress gradually as their confidence grows.

Ski instruction has a special place in St. Anton am Arlberg history. It was here that Hannes Schneider founded the first ski school in 1921 and developed teaching methods that helped shape modern Alpine skiing. Today, professional ski schools continue that tradition with lessons for all ages and abilities.

With numerous reputable ski schools and daycare centers to choose from, St. Anton provides a wonderful setting for families. A beginner “learn to ski” area can be found in the Nasserein area and directly in St. Anton features a surface lift (magic carpet).
