THE Hotel for WengenEverything about the Schonegg is excellent. Not too big. Beautiful views of the mountains, excellent food and staff and at one end of the main street of town. And, if the snow conditions are right, you can ski down to the main gondola a few hundred meters away. Everything is nearby. we've been staying there for a several years and love it.
Hotel Schonegg - WengenA wonderful hotel where you're always treated as if you are the most important person in the world by Hosts: Caroline and Sylvain Ogi. They're the best. Sylvain is the hotel's Chef and you won't find better cuisine anywhere than his. Even the locals come there when they want to eat out or celebrate a special occasion.
Quaint and charming mountain hotel
TheHotel Schnonegg is my top pick for families and couples looking for a greatlocation and stellar service right in the heart of the Wengen village. It’sabout a five-minute walk from the train station, so carting your luggage to thehotel isn’t a big problem. Though it’s rated as a three star superior, I thinkthe service and styling of the rooms is more befitting of a four star. It justoozes alpine elegance – the rooms vary from smaller to quite spacious, thehallways are lined with lovely old black and white photographs, and the stainedwood walls of the dining room match beautifully with the red gingham curtainsand tablecloths. There is a ski room and a cute little lounge room on the firstfloor that sports big windows with gorgeous views, as well as a complimentaryhonesty bar. The 20 rooms are decorated with gorgeous stone and wood in a moremodern take on a traditional alpine style – most rooms have double beds, and comewith showers or baths, so make sure to request which one you want at time ofbooking! I really loved this hotel, and would recommend it to anyone lookingfor a delightful and relaxing stay in Wengen!
Jewel of a hotel in Wengen
I just had the pleasure of visiting the Schonegg in Central Wengen. This 1903 building was one of the first hotels in Wengen. It's been completely renovated, and only has 20 rooms for a unique experience. The common areas have intimate spaces, including a small library for relaxing, cozy Stubli restaurant for breakfast and fine dining dinner restaurant with award an winning chef.
The hotel, though boutique in size, has every amenity including a contemporary waterbed treatment room and Sauna. The location in the center of town makes for an easy walk to the cable car for skiing, train station and shopping. A 10-minute ride up the Wengen Bahn brings you to the Jung Frau Joch, the "Top of Europe". One of the most picturesque stops on our trip.
