What to Expect

TRAVEL

Traveling to and through the Alps is a feast for the visual senses. Make sure you do some neck stretches in advance because you’ll be constantly gawking at some of the world’s most picturesque peaks. Relax and enjoy the scenic journey from Geneva Airport to Zermatt with our private transfer, which takes between 2.5 to 3 hours depending on weather, traffic and road conditions.

Terrain

Zermatt is home to one of the most iconic mountains in the world, the Matterhorn. As a skier, you'll be greeted by the stunning backdrop of this majestic peak throughout your time on the slopes. Zermatt boasts a vast skiing terrain that caters to all skill levels, from beginners to experts. The ski area is interconnected with Italy's Cervinia-Valtournenche ski resort, forming one of the largest and highest ski domains in the Alps. With over 360 km of groomed slopes, you'll have plenty of options to explore.

CULTURE

After a day on the slopes, which can include a cappuccino or lunch in Italy, Zermatt's charming village comes to life with a vibrant apres-ski scene. You can unwind in cozy Alpine bars, enjoy Swiss delicacies in restaurants, or indulge in hot chocolate or mulled wine to warm up.

OUR GUIDES

We want your time in Zermatt to be as memorable as possible by making the most of your time on the slopes. To accomplish this, we’ve included three days with our trusted team of third-party, local guides for any ability level. To ensure the highest quality and best service, they recruit only the most highly qualified guides with the most extensive experience of the Zermatt ski region. They’re also certified instructors and can, if you’d like them to, provide tips to improve your technique both on and off-piste. If you don’t think three days with these world-class guides will be enough, you can easily add them at the time of booking.

EQUIPMENT

Zermatt offers a wide range of skiing and snowboarding conditions and terrain, so we recommend your best all-mountain board or skis, or we can get you set up with the best local demos. We recommend our friends at Black Crows and their Atris, Daemon, or Camox for versatile all-mountain skis to shred Zermatt in any condition.

WHAT TO PACK

As in most high alpine climates the weather conditions in the Swiss Alps can change quickly, so you’ll want to pack all the right layers. Check out our blog post with Strafe for tips on how to layer with some of the best technical outerwear.
