Copper Mountain opens in November and closes in late April. As for skiing, peak conditions are between January and March. March often brings lots of snow and warmer temperatures, so it’s an excellent time for skiing. As for the crowds, Copper tends to be busiest during holidays like Christmas, New Year’s, Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and Presidents’ Day weekend. If you’re looking for fewer crowds, early December, mid-January and April tend to be the least crowded times at the resort.
Copper Mountain has a wide selection of lodging to fit most skiers’ budgets and vacation goals. The resort is made up of three base areas: Center Village sits in the middle, West Village is ideal for beginners and families and East Village offers fast access to advanced runs. In each area, skiers can find properties that range in price and style, from ski-in ski-out hotels to budget condos that are walking distance to the lifts. Each area has restaurants, bars and shops, and thanks to a free shuttle, it’s easy to navigate between the base areas. Out of the resort, nearby towns like Frisco, Dillon and Silverthorne offer even more accommodation options.
