Great Mountain but outrageously expensiveVail is a great mountain, and we knew it would be expensive, but it was still outrageous. It’s clearly a place for people with money who ski, not for people who ski. Glad to have my kids experience it, but there are many better options that don’t cost a fortune. Can’t see returning any time soon.
Another great ski vacationDespite a fairly low base (51"), conditions were decent, and grooming was good. Some fresh snow 2 nights made it worthwhile and because the mountain was fairly empty, we were able to find untracked snow even 2 days later! And, watching the Burton US Open was great.
Vail, a top notch skiing experience.Even though they didn't have that much snow on this trip, Vail never fails to satisfy. The terrain is so diverse that there is something for everyone. Off the slopes as well you'll find first class dining and shopping. Vail is truly one of my favorite places to vacation. ❤️❤️❤️
It's Vail ...What more needs to be said.Freshies in April. Too bad most of the bowls weren't open. 50% off in restaurants. Cheap rooms...
Vail is the bestLiterally nothing better in North America, best skiing period.
Great place for ski vacationThis mountain is massive and with all the new high speed lifts and gondolas, you never stand in lift lines.
It was a convienant location but very noisy. Trash pick up woke us 7 am each morning and lasted awhile.we had great skiing and resturants .
we have skied the area over many years, our first time staying village side. would not do again.
Great Ski LocationThe resort is well run and the amount and variation of ski runs is wonderful! To eat lunch there is a bit pricey. We enjoyed Vail Very much!
excelente lugar, grandes pistas y mejores locacionesski perfecto, villa y lugares increíbles. vail es Vail, lo mejor para esquiar
We always love Vail!We love the back bowls and the beauty of the mountain. There is a good mix of trails for intermediate and expert skiers.
GreatGood snow , very nice people working at the slopes
5 Days in Vail HeavenWe flew into Eagle on Sunday and spent until Thursday in Manor Vail Resort.
The accommodations were excellent, and the environment was stunning. It snowed every day sometimes heavy, but the resort was up to the task. It was maybe too big for such a short trip, but we already plan to go back.
The skiing and riding was exactly what we wanted, but the only thing that we did not hook up with was the free tours that they provide on the mountain each day from the central lodges.
The staff at the ski shop and at the ski resort were very helpful, and even exchanged my skis when the snow conditions changed.
The agent from ski.com also was very helpful in arranging our trip.
got stuck in Vail for two extra days due to snow stormLucked out with a great powder weekend on their last weekend of the 2015-16 season. Snowboarded the front side with 11 inches on first day and was totally worn out and loved it. Skied the back bowls the next day with about 5 more inches. Fantastic! When the back bowls are good, there is no place else I'd rather be!
Perfect Accomodations!Anthony Luczkow - handled our Ski.com vacation to Vail. As always he did a great job of finding the perfect accommodations for my family. Vail is such a wonderful town and the skiing was everything we wanted.
Thank You Denise Gile and Ski.ComWe had a wonderful stay at the Four Seasons in Vail. Staff was super attentive and it all happened because of the great work of Denise Gile at Ski.Com The accommodations were incredible and my family had a great time. End of Year discounts really were a fantastic value.
mother nature cooperated!we stayed at the mountain haus in a 2BR unit facing the mountain which was perfect for our family of 4. they are always warm at friendly at the mountain haus, that is why we return. the breakfast is easy, they have washers and dryers to use, the cookies and hot beverages are great, etc. the location is centrally located at the covered bridge, although it was a little tough for my kids to walk to the gondola with all of their equipment and ski boots. the conditions at vail were phenomenal. i think we got almost 2 feet of snow during our week there. we will definitely return.
Excellent ski domain, long wide runs, fantastic views, courteous cueingThere are runs a plenty, for all ages and experience, although I did notice the average age to be more on the 'mature' side. Consequently level of skiing on the whole above average. Pistes are long, wide, steep, gentle and plentiful. Carving and off piste heaven. With fresh snow the Back Bowl are a life ski experience. Just so many entry points. Not radically steep, just the right drop to swing down again and again. The Cloud Nine run winding through the trees at the Blue Sky Basin is total fun. Eating out is better than some resorts, need to book in advance.
Vail is greatI ski in many places in the West. Vail is my favorite because of the wide variety of skiing. Most of all the back bowls are truly unique to anything I have skied. Blue Sky Basin makes you feel as if you are skiing out of bounds without the danger of actually doing so. Plus getting around is relatively easy. Restaurants and rest stops are plentiful and in all the right places. Lift lines can be a problem however although they do move well. Some places ought to have better crowd control to make them move even faster. I gave Vail "only" 4 stars because of lift lines. But truth is I love skiing at Vail and can't wait to go back. Apres ski experience is also excellent. No need for a rental car. Just walk out of your hotel and all of Vail is in walking distance. Or take the free shuttle.
Excellant ski Mountain with all the skiable terrain anyone would want. The Vail Mountain provided us with superb skiing for 3 days early Feb. All personnel were quite professional and eager to help.
We love it here!We have been coming here for 20 years. Feels like home! Clean, nice people, great service wherever you go!
NiiiiiceVail mountain is large because of Back Bowls and Blue Basin. Staff is courteous and slopes well groomed.
Lodging and restaurants are expensive but worth the cost as everything was high quality.
We will definitely be back.
Wonderful Family Vacation!Everyone had a terrific time - even the 3 year old who went to ski school and also went skiing with her mom!
BeautifulThis is a Beautiful place, looks like a fairy tail place and also a clean place, nice people and full of activities as winter sports, and restaurants.
Vail's The BestIt has probably been 15 years since I last skied Vail and it's been way too long. Vail of course, has grown by leaps and bounds over that time, and although it is still pricey as ever, we were completely impressed by everyone with whom we came into contact. Whether it was the ski shop, the lifts, the restaurants or the shops, everyone was helpful and did their very best to make our stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. We had a mixup with our accomodations and ended up staying the first night in Vail Village and the rest of the time in Lionshead, but everyone involved made the transition from one location to the next a breeze. The mountain is fantastic and still my favorite of all ski mountains; so much terrain with so many options.....there may be times when Vail has a lot of people on the mountain, but I have never seen a resort move so many people, so quickly up the mountain. We skied all over the mountain and never had a single problem. Kept looking for Lindsey Vaughn, but dang, couldn't find her. Vail is the best!
Remarkable, Breathtaking, Real Life Christmas VillageThis was our first trip to Colorado ski country and we could not have been happier with our choice! Vail is so beautiful, the resort town is a tail of two halfs, Vail Village and Lionshead Village connected by a free bus service. We stayed at the Lodge at Lionshead, which is a full service lodge, with daily maid service to make beds freshen up and replensh towels. Our condo at the lodge was wonderful! We got everything we requested (2 bedrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen, dish washer, and fireplace). The lodege provides ski and board storage, and is no more than 150 yards from the Gondola! This was a big deal for our family because not everyone wanted to spend the entire day on the mountain. The people of Vail could not have been more accomodating. We vacationed early in the ski season, and guests seemed to be limited, which made the local businesses (ski shops, resturaunts, etc) very eagar to earn our business with very attractive discounts, and even free lessons. The staff at Performance Sports (located in Lionshead Village) rented us skis and snow boards, and allowed us to interchange from one to the other anytime we wanted to change! Great people at Performance Sports, The owners name was JP, and his staff was wonderful!
From the bus drivers, to the waiters, to the snow patrol at the very top of the mountain, every person we encountered in Vail was exceptionaly polite! We can not wait to go back to Vail!
Great snow at VailI went to Winter Park last season and had a great time. The snow was good and the people were friendly. But this year I was looking for something a little different. I read up on Vail and found some great info. I decided to give Vail a shot and was blown away with how much powder there was. I would recommend Vail to anyone. It's a snowboarder's paradise.
Great timeMy family and I had a great time at Vail when we went last month.
Last year we went to Tahoe, which was also nice, but we wanted to find some place new this year.
We actually read about Vail on Findthebest.com, which has a Ski Resorts App that compares hundreds of ski resorts including Vail. http://ski-resorts.findthebest.com/. The resort was very accessible, was good for families, the lift tickets were reasonably priced and I would definitely suggest it for families as well as for groups of friends.
A fun, romantic rendez-vous spot!My husband and I had a wonderful week at the Lions Square Lodge at Vail. Wow! When the agent at Ski.com said she reserved us a one bedroom mountain view condo, she wasn't kidding! Truly gorgeous and relaxing! Grilling dinner on our balcony in the evening, we could see the headlights of the night skiers....very cool! The staff at the Lions Square Lodge was so kind and helpful. We arrived our fist afternoon in time to sign up for the Lodge's evening grocery store run where we stocked up for the week. However, the first night we celebrated our reunion with dinner at the Chophouse-- a hop, skip, and jump (and a few snow ball throws) away from Lions Square Lodge.
Our ski-in-ski-out location was unbeatable! Well worth an adjustment in my pre-planned itinerary dates to get it. The mountain is huge and really absorbs the crowds well, so the runs always felt wide open.
The Colorado Mountain Express personnel from Denver airport to Vail were also very kind and accommodating--dropped us right at the hotel front step.
Another Excellent Stay in VailAs usual, an excellent trip to Vail. Had a perfect mixture of sun and powder and Vail Village's excellent dining and lodging.
Vail is Fabulous! The Skiing and Accommodations were fabulous! The nightlife is something else as well! Arrabelle is a top notch property, it was worth watiing for! Great service, attentive staff, beautiful rooms!
Had a great timeWe stayed at the Tivoli - it was just lovely - very friendly, great room, great bathroom, great breakfast! And terrific location.
