The Hotel Portillo, offers cozy and warm lodging accommodations a variety of room types, including doubles, family apartments and suites, with a view of the valley or the lake. While the mountain view from the valley side is beautiful, the lake view is especially spectacular and is worth the slightly higher price.
Hotel Portillo's rooms are simply decorated and comfortable. The rooms do not have TV, however TV can be viewed in the cinema and disco at designated hours. Guests are encouraged to take part in the many activities and facilities, and disconnect from the day-to-day routine.
History Lives On
The old but very well functioning hotel at Portillo is full of history and very accommodating.
Bucket-list experience
I had the amazing privilege of finally visiting some ski areas we sell in South America. I spent three nights experiencing everything this resort has to offer. It is certainly something that I recommend at least once in your life. You drive up and see the beautiful yellow Hotel Portillo holding court over the lake. Most flights arrive early in the day so you can usually even ski the day of arrival. Service is certainly the focus of the staff from bellman to rental shop to ski valet to wait staff. The standard hotel rooms are on the smaller side, but the entire hotel feels like you living room so you really are just sleeping there. The Lake View rooms are worth the up-charge. The rooms have very nice recent upgrades. The 3 meals included are delicious with a nice variety from local to more traditional options. The welcome happy hour is a great opportunity to get to know you fellow skiers. The hotel has everything you could need from a large game room to a salon with spa treatments.
