Great rooms, easy to access the village!
I recently had the pleasure of staying in the Village at Squaw Valley, and absolutely loved the proximity to the mountain as well as the spectacular views afforded by the very spacious room.
Although I was there for one night, the front desk staff were attentive and helpful, assisting when the key to the room was not functioning properly as well as pointing me in the right direction for breakfast in the morning. The room itself was quite large, and had a great, comfortable bed, and a lot of outlets for all my electronics. The views from the windows were just lovely, as Squaw had just gotten a heap of snow the night before!
The proximity to the village could not have been better - it's right in the heart of it! Just walk out of the back door on the first floor of the main building, and you're in the thick of it. Lots of great restaurants, bars and shopping all around - check out Plumpjack and Rockers for après! - and best of all, the rental shop and gondola are just around the corner!
