This weekend, it’s official! The two top South American ski resorts of Portillo and Valle Nevado will be fully operational. Valle Nevado turned on the bullwheel for skiing nearly a month early, due to awesome snow conditions, but had not yet opened up its hotel complex to overnight guests. Portillo is expecting great opening-day conditions tomorrow, June 24, as the resort just received two feet of snow.

In other news, Valle Nevado just announced they will be extending their Buy 5, Get 2 Nights Free lodging promotion to July 15, so take advantage while you can.
