Summer officially ended on Sept. 22, 2016, and—right on cue—a slow-moving storm dropped measurable snowfall on ski resorts across the Western US and Canada! We’ve compiled some of the best photos to show you how ski resorts are beginning to transform for winter.
What does this September snow mean for your ski vacation?
The New Farmer’s Almanac released their long-range winter forecast last month, and there’s some good news for East Coast resorts. In addition, they’ve called for a cold winter with average snowfall for much of the Rocky Mountain region. As Aspen Snowmass locals, we think an average forecast puts us on target for solid conditions throughout the winter — 300 inches sounds good to us!
