There is nothing better than being in a ski town during December. The holiday lights glimmering off the snow is stunning and makes you feel as though you are in a Christmas card. Whether you are from the area or just visiting, the sense of community in these towns make you feel right at home. No matter where you are, in the days leading up to the 25th you will be sure to see Santa suits all over the slopes.
From torchlight parades to skiing Santas, it seems every resort has something fun planned for the holiday season.
CRESTED BUTTE MOUNTAIN RESORT
Santa Ski and Crawl is the big event that happens for the holiday season. On Christmas Eve you will also see Santa in his sleigh getting pulled down the mountain by a snowcat.

WINTER PARK RESORT
The Annual torchlight parade and fireworks takes place right on the mountain. A procession of skiers carve down the mountain while holding glowing torches. They are followed by Kris Kringle himself in his sleigh!

With encouragement from my family and friends, I decided to move from Virginia to the Roaring Fork Valley in May of 2015. Since then, I've worked at Ski.com and have happily transitioned into the Co-op & Promotions Manager position. Living in the Aspen area is a dream come true, with so much to do and explore. I am truly blessed to have found a community that shares in my love for the outdoors.
