Jackson Hole announced yesterday that they will be hosting an all-new freeskiing competition on Jan. 31−Feb. 4, 2018: Kings & Queens of Corbet’s. And, yes, the world’s best male and female skiers and snowboarders will be testing their mettle on North America’s most renowned run: Corbet’s Couloir.

A measuring stick for generations of skiers and snowboarders, there may be no better venue in North America for this one-of-a-king big mountain contest than Corbet's Couloir.

With Jackson Hole’s famous tram passing by every 10 minutes, Corbet’s Couloir is one of the most visible lines on the mountain, which also makes for great spectating from a bird’s eye perspective.

The competitors will be peer judged via film following the contest, based on speed, commitment, degree of difficulty, innovative and progressive maneuvers and control and “stomped” landings.
