Enter to win three British Columbia ski tripsThroughout September, we asked you to post your ski-trip dreams in our #BCdreamcatcher sweepstakes for a chance to win one of three British Columbia ski vacations. We received thousands of incredible ski-trip dreams (which you can see here and below),  and three lucky skiers/snowboarders were randomly drawn to turn those dreams into a reality.

We’d like to thank our prizing sponsors as well as all the participants who inspired us with their ski-trip dreams!

The #BCDreamcatcher winners are:

Whistler Winner: Joseph Wendling

Joseph’s ski-trip dream: “My British Columbia ski dream is to ski at Whistler on a perfect bluebird day. The scenery, the weather, and of course the world-class experience at Whistler wouldn’t just be a dream. It would be surreal.”

Whistler prize package:

About Fairmont Chateau Whistler:
Nestled at the foot of Whistler Blackcomb, the 550-room Fairmont Chateau Whistler is the destination’s landmark hotel. The property is naturally spectacular, and its design combines classic mountain elegance with modern alpine amenities. The cherry on top is Fairmont’s impeccable service and attention to every luxurious detail. Make the Fairmont Chateau Whistler your base camp for adventure on your next Whistler ski trip.

Find out why Whistler is SKI magazine’s #1 ski resort this year.

Okanagan Winner: Tracy Schwab

Tracy’s ski-trip dream: Just to have an awesome time – learn how to ski again (it’s been years!) and spend some time with loved ones.

Tracy selected Sun Peaks as her Okanagan destination. She’ll receive:

Sun Peaks Resort prize package:

  • five nights’ lodging at Sun Peaks Lodge
  • four days of skiing for two people at Sun Peaks Resort
  • roundtrip airport transfers from Kamloops Airport (YKA)

About Sun Peaks Lodge:
This family-operated hotel is located in the heart of the quaint village at Sun Peaks Resort and just steps away from the chairlift. Guests enjoy a “sense of place” with locally sourced decor, including made-in-Canada furniture. With only 44 guestrooms, this property feels intimate, warm and just like the inviting ski lodge you’ve dreamed about.

We love Okanagan ski resorts! Here are 7 reasons why you will, too.

Powder Highway Winner: Christine Carter

Christine’s ski-trip dream: I dream to ski BC! Just once in my lifetime!

Christine had a choice between several Powder Highway ski resorts and selected Revelstoke.

Revelstoke prize package:

About Sutton Place Hotel:
A true ski-in, ski-out property, the Sutton Place Hotel offers luxury, condominium-style rooms spread across three buildings and serviced by a lovely, central lobby. It’s located in the base village, steps from the Revelation Gondola and just a few minutes from downtown Revelstoke. With three on-site restaurants—ROCKFORD wok|bar|grill, The Mackenzie Common Tavern, and La Baguette—there’s no reason to leave!

Would you go on the ultimate road trip for skiers?

  • We skied at whistler once. That year was the worst snow year for them in 25 years. Hardly anything was open. It poured rain at the top of Blackcomb the first day. My wife broke her leg the second day. I skied the third day, but it wasn’t worth the effort to ski any more. I hope to return to whistler when the conditions are great.

    • Our first year was the same. We kept going back each year to find great conditions. FINALLY, it happened in our fifth year! It was Epic, but maybe there would be a better chance at powder skiing in Alberta???

My ski’s are waxed my passport current, I am ready to go as soon as the lifts start turning.

  • Whistler/Black is a true dream. I have heard that it is second to none. Between the great snow fall / 200 plus trails to ski , apres ski with the most friendly and happy go lucky people and the shopping in the village people have told me is to die for!!!! What more could you want for a ski dream vacation?? Except great 5 star hotels everywhere, which I have been told they have them too!!! Dreaming to go!!!!
