To begin, not all Ikon Passes are created equally. The Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass and Ikon Session Pass have different levels of benefits that apply to different ski resorts and mountain destinations at different times. So, figuring out which applies to you and when is paramount to taking advantage of your pass.

UNLIMITED ACCESS, BLACKOUT DATES AND PARTNER RESORTS

Alterra Mountain Company continues to expand its pass offerings to include some of the best skiing in the world via its Ikon, Ikon Base and Ikon Session passes. Obviously, the full Ikon Pass includes more expansive access when compared to its more affordable counterparts. That said, the Ikon Base also offers some amazing destinations, albeit with blackout dates*.

Here’s the general breakdown… (Those renewing their Ikon Pass are granted access to discounted, season pass renewal rates)  

$1,309 – IKON PASS – Unlimited access to 16 mountain resorts, up to 7 days at unique mountain resorts across the globe. 

$979 – IKON BASE PASS – Unlimited access to 14 mountain resorts and 5-day access at 33 mountain resorts across the globe with blackout dates*.

IKON SESSION PASSESPurchase 2, 3 or 4-day Session Passes for access to 39 destinations with blackout dates.

  • $389 for 3-day

When it comes to saving money, it’s hard to beat the Ikon Pass discounts on everything from food and beverage to retail and ski school. Full Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass holders can get 15% off retail and dining at select locations.

When you buy an adult Ikon Pass or Ikon Base Pass, save up to $200 total ($100 each) on the purchase of two child base passes.

First Tracks

“Ikon Pass First Tracks is available one designated morning per month in January, February and March 202 at each participating destination during the 23/24 winter season. Designated days may vary by destination. Ikon Pass First Tracks applies to the 23/24 Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, Ikon Base Plus Pass and Ikon Session Pass 4-Day, based on pass access. First Tracks dates for the 23/24 season will be announced at a later date.”

It’s no secret that window rate lift tickets have gotten a little steep lately. Thankfully, Ikon Pass holders get friends and family discounts of up to 25% off the window rate for 10 lift tickets with the Ikon Pass, and 8 lift tickets on the Ikon Base Passes at select Ikon Pass destinations during the 23/24 season.

POW Membership

It’s admirable whenever a product and the community it serves get behind a common, humanitarian cause. Ikon Pass holders with a penchant for climate action will be granted a $20 Protect Our Winters membership with their purchase. Membership in POW includes 20% off merchandise, a monthly newsletter and a subscription to the biweekly email blast “The Line.”

Confidence to Buy

“Buy with confidence and know that you’re covered. If a 23/24 Ikon Pass holder decides not to use their pass after purchase, for any reason, they can elect to defer their pass to receive full credit for the purchase price of their unused 23/24 Ikon Pass to be used toward the purchase of a 24/25 Ikon Pass. The pass holder will need to defer their pass in My Account by December 14, 2023 to receive a full credit. Subject to applicable terms and conditions.”
