Colorado and Canada Kick Off The 20-21 Ski Season [Photo Tour]

We’re off to the races! Ski resorts in Colorado and Canada are open for business and as long as we continue to stay vigilant, things are looking promising, albeit different, for the 20-21 ski season.

Last weekend, Mt Norquay in Banff was the first ski area to open in Canada and from the looks of it, they had powder, pristine groomers, and a lot of good times. In addition to Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Resort just announced that they will be hosting skiing and riding starting tomorrow, Thursday 10/29/20 for what will be the earliest opening in the resort’s history. Although travel between the USA and Canada is currently restricted, we hope this early season snow sticks around until later in the season when we may be able to access the Canadian Rockies. Keep those fingers crossed and masks on.

In the United States, Wolf Creek Ski Area opened this morning to Powder conditions after 24″ of snow blanketed the eastern San Juan mountains on Sunday and Monday. It’s the second time that Wolf Creek Ski Area has won the race to open in Colorado with the last time coming in 2018, when they opened on October 13.

We’ll continue to keep you up-to-date on future openings including Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Mt Bachelor, Grand Targhee, and other resorts that typically host early openings. Stay tuned!
