Thanks to ample spring storms that dropped 18 inches in the past week, Aspen Skiing Company just announced it will open Aspen Mountain for skiing and riding Memorial Day weekend, May 27–29. This weekend will also mark the kickoff to summer operations on Aspen Mountain, which includes Silver Queen Gondola access to on-mountain sightseeing and activities and food and beverage service at the Sundeck restaurant.

The Silver Queen Gondola will operate from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. for both skiing, on-mountain dining and sightseeing. In addition, Ajax Express chairlift will run from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. providing access to upper mountain blue and black runs. Note: there are no beginner runs on Aspen Mountain.

“With a pleasant spring squall dropping additional snow on the top of Aspen Mountain last week, we are excited to kick-off our summer season with skiing/riding,” says Rich Burkley, vice president of mountain operations, Aspen Skiing Company. “The weekend will offer classic conditions for a Colorado multi-sport weekend with town green and the mountain white.”
