Vail Resorts Announces ‘Epic Coverage’ For Passholders In Time Of COVID-19

This morning, the Epic Pass released an innovative compensation program for its pass holder patrons that aims to give back to those who missed out on precious skiing or snowboarding last season. Looking forward, Vail Resorts is also switching up its refund policies to reflect the evolving landscape in which we currently live.

Via a release this morning, chief marketing officer of Vail Resorts, Kirsten Lynch said the changes to the Epic Pass are meant to provide customers “peace of mind about the future” as well as honor previous loyalty. The coverage package is broken into three parts: credits for missed days last season, a flexible refund policy for the upcoming winter, as well as a delay in the purchase deadline to Labor Day, 2020.

Epic Credits:

Depending on the number of days skied last year by each individual passholder, the Epic Pass will give corresponding credits that range between 20-80% towards their pass purchase for next season. If you didn’t ski at all, you get an 80% credit towards next season’s pass purchase.

Vail Resorts is providing credits to 2019/20 season pass holders, based on the price of their pass, to apply toward the purchase of a 2020/21 season pass of equal or greater value:

For those worried about purchasing a pass for the upcoming season, Vail Resorts is offering “Epic Coverage” that gives pass holders complete peace of mind. If COVID-19 persists, pass holders will see a refund for “any portion of the season that is lost.”

Deadline Extended:

The Deadline for purchasing an Epic Pass at the spring rate has been extended until Labor Day.
