Editor’s Note: We have so many excellent questions about Banff and Lake Louise, we enlisted help from our friends at Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine. They fielded some of the great questions that didn’t quite make the Legends’ list but are still very important when planning a Banff and Lake Louise ski vacation! If you haven’t entered to win, visit our Facebook and ask your question!

Ski Sunshine Banff Lake Louise

What is your favourite après ski routine? (asked by Rose Ardanaz)

Après ski is something we do well, Rose! There’s nothing quite like finishing your day with truly Canadian cuisine and a glass of wine, a beer or hot chocolate on the deck of the Kokanee Cabin at the Lake Louise Ski Resort or at the historic Mad Trappers Saloon at Sunshine Village. If the cuisine at the resort wasn’t reason enough to enjoy après, the views of the Canadian Rockies will tick all the boxes. The resorts also have great dining at the Powder Keg and Chimney Corner. Plus Sunshine Village will be continuing their Veuve Clicquot champagne and oyster snow bar this season!

Also, with Mt. Norquay’s recent approval for its long range plan, the upcoming developments to the historic Cliff House will create a venue to host the ultimate après experience from the top of the resort overlooking the town of Banff. Stay tuned!

Is it the spectacular views that makes you guys smile all the time? How can I get that infectious smile? (asked by Meg Larson)

By spending more time with us, Meg! We’ve got almost 7 months of skiing (November through late May), which is always the reason for the infectious grin on our faces. We’re happy to share the views and the smiles with you! Plus we’re pretty friendly out here, too. We think it has something to do with the scenery.

Where is the best place to get 1st tracks? (asked by Michael Jorgenson)

The Lake Louise Ski Resort actually offers a First Tracks program. Offering exclusive access to the runs half an hour before any other skier or boarder, it provides guests with ultimate bragging rights. Plus you also get 2 to 3 hours of instruction once you’ve secured the first tracks of the day.

You can be sure to catch one of the first chairs of the day at Sunshine Village if you stay overnight at the only on-mountain accommodation in Banff National Park – Sunshine Mountain Lodge. The chairlifts are just feet from the hotel, so you can be sure to be first in line each day before the day skiers arrive from the gondola.

Not forgetting Mt. Norquay, which is located just 10 minutes from the town of Banff, that early morning departure for first chair doesn’t actually have to be that early when you only have to drive 10 minutes to the resort!
