There has been a lot of chatter about the monster storm sweeping across the West Coast and the Sierras, but all the way across the country, East Coast ski resorts were pummeled by a moisture-heavy Nor’Easter earlier this week. The clouds are starting to clear today, and OpenSnow East Coast forecasters predict that skiers and snowboarders will score lots of pow this weekend with cooler temperatures holding through early next week.

Judging by the photos, Sugarloaf and Sunday River were big winners in Maine with reported storm snow totals reaching up to two feet in the last week! Stowe Mountain Resort reported 21 inches in the last 48 hours and 25 inches in the last week, and, with all this great coverage, Stowe ski patrol was able to open up expert favorites including Starr, Lookout and National. Killington racked up 29 inches in seven days, allowing “The Beast” to spread its boundaries.
