Breckenridge

Breckenridge, or "Breck" as locals and regular visitors call it, is one of Colorado’s most beloved ski resorts. Known for its expansive terrain, charming historic town, and family-friendly atmosphere, it’s easy to see why this iconic resort is so popular. Accessible on the Epic Pass, Breckenridge spans five peaks across the 10 Mile Range: Peaks 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, each with its own unique character. Peaks 8 and 9 are home to the majority of beginner terrain, with easy-to-ride chairlifts and magic carpets, and serve as the main meeting spots for ski school.

Speaking of which, Breckenridge’s ski school is renowned for its excellence, offering over 90,000 lessons per season and earning recognition as one of the best in North America for introducing new skiers and snowboarders to the sport. The resort’s layout makes it easy for beginners to navigate, with quick access to rental shops, dining options, ski school meeting points, and historic downtown. After a day on the slopes, après-ski is just a short walk away.

Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek is the perfect blend of luxury and beginner-friendly slopes, making it one of the top spots to learn to ski. With 28% of its terrain designated as green runs, this mountain caters beautifully to first-timers. Located in Eagle County, Colorado, just 15 minutes from the iconic Vail Ski Resort, Beaver Creek is known for its peaceful, upscale atmosphere. The village sits conveniently at the base of the mountain, offering everything you need to start your skiing journey—rental shops, souvenir spots, delicious dining, ski school access, and slopeside, ski-in/ski-out accommodations.

One standout feature of Beaver Creek is that its green runs aren’t confined to the base. Beginners can ride lifts to the top, soak in breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains, and cruise down long, gentle trails. McCoy Park, a 250-acre area dedicated to beginners and families, provides a safe, mellow environment away from faster-paced skiers, ensuring a relaxed learning experience.

Beaver Creek’s ski school is exceptional, with instructors using video analysis to help beginners progress quickly and confidently. Skiers can keep their videos for reference, making it easier to tackle new skills or advance to more challenging terrain. And, of course, there’s Cookie Time—every day at 3 PM, fresh, oven-baked cookies are served at the base of the mountain, offering a sweet way to wrap up your ski day.

Accessible on the Epic Pass, Beaver Creek is a luxurious and family-friendly destination that’s perfect for learning to ski while enjoying world-class amenities and unforgettable mountain charm.
