Aspen Mountain Spring Skiing, Aspen Memorial Day Skiing, Aspen Memorial Weekend Skiing

If you’ve already relegated your skis or board to the closet, or attic, it’s time to dust em’ off  for one more ride. Aspen/Snowmass is really opening for Memorial Day skiing! In fact, it’ll be open the whole weekend, Saturday, May 25, through Monday, May 27, 2013.

The resort announced its surprise opening yesterday, Monday, May 20, citing that the heavy late season snowstorms brought enough snow to re-open about 90 acres of skiing on the top half of Aspen Mountain. The Silver Queen Gondola will begin running at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Lift tickets are free for Aspen/Snowmass Premier, Premier Silver and 6-and-under passholders, all other passholders can purchase discounted tickets at $18 per and non-passholders can ski and ride for only $36 per day.

Skiers and riders can lap Chair 3, Ajax Express, until 2 p.m., or download on the Silver Queen anytime up until 4:30 p.m.

The Sun Deck dining will be open, including the bar. Ajax Tavern will also be open for dining and apres-ski.

Plus, it’s shaping up to be a gorgeous weekend, perfect for Memorial Day skiing. So, don’t shy away from jean shorts, and be sure to work on your goggle tan.
