Lovely hotelYes, the rooms are SMALL and essentially the 'privy' only offers the very scant-est privacy, but that shouldn't stop anyone from booking a delightful stay at a charming hotel. The location is SO fantastic; we were able to walk all about town & grab the ski bus directly across the street. The front desk staff were most kind & very professional, the daily breakfast buffet was ample and delicious, all amenities were of good quality and the shower was fantastic. Our room faced the interior court, which was good as there can be streetcar/traffic noise in front. There is a locked room on the bottom floor for ski equip & extra baggage. After getting over our initial shock at the room size, we loved the Hotel Maximilian.
Hotel was AmazingHotel was amazing. Very clean and staff exceptionally helpful and pleasant. Breakfast buffet was more than we expected with a very wide variety of foods. We tried items we had never seen before and they were delicious. Wait staff were very nice and always accommodating. Room was perfect size however the glass bathroom door and wall took some getting use to. Ski room was a great help for storing our skis. Ski bus picked us up right in front of our hotel and as we were first in the list of hotel pickups, we always got a seat. Hotel was in the perfect location as it was right at the edge of Old Town so convenient to walk everywhere. Hotel has very well insulated glass windows so no noise at all, but since we were not on the busy side of Old Town it did not matter. Great view of the mountains from our room too. One note, the "maid do not enter" sign does not mean much to them. They enter every 2 days even if you put it on your door. I understand management needs to check the room every few days but don't send housekeeping in if we do not want them in. Otherwise, amazing hotel and will definitely stay there again when we go back next year.
