We loved Deer Valley

This spring, my kids and I had a wonderful time skiing at Deer Valley. The mountain and services were fabulous - check your skis and boots for free at the mountain, so no lugging them back and forth to the hotel. My 13 year old daughter attended two full days of ski school (Teen Escape) and loved it. They broke the kids into groups by gender and ability. She made friends and had a great time. After several years of not skiing, I took three lessons to get back skills that had clearly atrophied. I had an overall good experience - no more than 4-5 in a group, but the class was geared more to "learning by doing." I did improve this way, but the instructors felt more like a tour guides. On my third day, I had an awesome instructor and really improved, so I think it might be the luck of the draw in terms of instruction. For the time of year we skied, there were no lines at the chair lifts. Tons of terrain - nice greens and blues for me. Advanced blues and blacks for my kids. Something for everyone (and we loved that there were no snow boarders -- don't mean to offend anyone, but they are a little disconcerting for an "evergreen" skier like me.) Thank you to's Kamlyn for helping me to pull this impromptu mini-break together in a week.

Fabulous Vacation

Great skiing, well-conditioned slopes, excellent express lift system, exceptional food and quality service throughout our stay. Easy access to the town of Park City and its shopping and restaurants.

Spring Break Ski Trip

Beautiful Area. Nice employees/transit workers/skiers. Beautiful Mid-mountain facilities close to ski lift.

Average Ski Resort

Based on what I heard from others about how wonderful Deer Valley is, it definitely did not quite measure up. It is a nice place ski, it is not any better than other resorts I have skied. It definitely would not be in my top five.

Deer Valley Ski Resort

Very crowded. We were there on a Sunday. Lifts and on-mountain facilities were good. Runs well groomed

Great Experience

Love the Deer Valley experience. It's first class all the way. The lifts all have the comfortable foot rest and the lodges are superior for anything that might be needed.

The Best Western Resort for Eastern Skiers

Let's face it, we grew up skiing the white ice of Mid-Atlantic and New England ski areas. Deep powder intimidates us. Deer Valley understands this and grooms almost all the intermediate, advanced intermediate, and even a few black diamond runs. Most other black diamonds and double diamonds are left to the powder hounds and mogul experts. We like the distinct areas of the resort; you can choose the exposure and elevation that you want. As many reviewers have said, the on-mountain food is great. For a real treat, stay at the Stein Eriksen Lodge!

Super Resort

Ski school was great and 3 kids 13, 12, 10 yrs old loved the experience. Staff very friendly and food at lodge was good but a little expensive. The free ski storage was great. Truely the best place to ski with a family.

Great for Families

This was our first time at Deer Valley and it was everything I heard it was and more. It has an incredible ski school with very personal attention to each child. Our children took group lessons and made friends and learned to ski! The service is topnotch -- making skiing with young children much more enjoyable! And as an intermediate skier, it tons of wonderful intermediate runs. The only con is that there are limited things for a non-skiing family member to do.

Wonderful place

This was my third trip to Deer Valley, and I may never go anywhere else. I'm an intermediate skier, and there are many, many wonderful blue trails to explore. The staff is outstanding, and the complimentary overnight ski storage is a huge plus. Oh, and the food is great. And, I like the fact that no snowboarding is allowed. Only downside is the price.
