Mike Douglas has lived in Whistler for 25 years because his own experience has proven that “this is one of the snowiest and bestest places to live, period.” The godfather of freeskiing recaps the variable 2014-15 winter in the video below, and he doesn’t give this ski season high marks.

You would never know that Whistler had a strange ski season if you showed up in April because spring snow has blessed the alpine zones with great conditions. As of today, the snow pack is at about 70 inches, ensuring good conditions on Whistler Mountain through the end of the season which closes on May 18, 2015. (Read about where you can ski in May 2015.)

Back to Mike. He asks: even if you thought this winter was sub-par—especially compared to recent years—are you really going to skip winter 2015/16?

Not us! We agree with Mike that as skiers and snowboarders, one below-average season isn’t going to stop us from seeking “the feeling of flying down a mountain covered with cold powder snow.” See you on the slopes at Whistler Blackcomb in November, Mike!
