Annually ranked as one of North America’s top ski destinations for families by all of the ski magazines, Snowmass specializes in providing an unparalleled experience for families. With a long list of kid- and teenager-centric activities and attractions, there’s no question that Snowmass is a family ski resort. With varied terrain and a seemingly endless array of ski in, ski out accommodations, and plenty of dining, après and nightlife hotspot, a Snowmass ski vacation is also great for skiers of all walks of life, not just families.

Ski Snowmass

One of the biggest reasons that Snowmass is reputed as the perfect resort for a family ski trip is in large part to its 25,000-square-foot Treehouse Kids’ Adventure Center. This state-of-the-art facility is the hub for all things children, and with a several perfect areas solely devoted to beginner skiers, including the new Elk Camp Gondola. For a groomer-loving intermediate skier, Snowmass is paradise. The cruisers at Snowmass are meticulously manicured every night (and some are groomed at noon every day), and for those looking to challenge themselves there are many different areas for intermediates to hone their skills on. Expert skiers looking to test themselves will find cliffs to drop, tight trees to navigate and fresh powder throughout the more than 3,300 acres of skiable terrain at Snowmass.

Downtown Aspen

Although Snowmass is located just a few miles from downtown Aspen, a Snowmass ski vacation has its own feel and experience independent of its famous neighbor. But, if you want to see what the hype surrounding downtown Aspen’s dining and nightlife is all about, hop on the free bus that runs regularly between Snowmass and Aspen.

Great trip!

The travel arrangements Ryan made for us were perfect and our condo at the Stonebridge Condominiums was great, especially the ski- in ski-out part. Our condo was less than 100 feet from the slopes. It was an outstanding vacation.

Snowmass, Our new favorite ski location

Snowmass is a fabulous ski area. The map is deceiving as to how large the area is. Runs are incredibly wide and diverse. For the blue skier it is the perfect resort. The number of green runs is limited but there are a few and they are good runs. All the runs were groomed either that night or the day before keeping bumps to a minimum. We even skied The Cirque which is a Pummel lift above tree line,. It access double black runs but there is a blue as well and it is very easy. it was like skiing on the moon. Overall an excellent trip.

Snowmass

The skiing is fabulous as well as the diversity of the slopes. I couldn't think of one thing to complain about other than the enormous prices in all categories, whether it be lift tickets, lessons, accommodations or food. Switzerland is cheaper!
Still, we were told that Ski.com gave us the best possible prices for the lift tickets. They are quick, professional and competent. Woodrun Place has a very good location and our condo was beautiful. (Not so much the common areas outside).
There are very few places to eat off of the slopes, but we cooked most nights or drove to Aspen. The food on the slopes was extremely good (and extremely expensive). This is a wonderful ski resort that everyone should visit at least once in their lives. The snow is like powder and the resort fulfills all desires.

Snowmass was a great mountain with varied terrain. Snow conditions were just ok so couldn't really enjoy all of the mountain.

For a holiday wknd, upper lifts were good, lower not so much.

Long runs, short lines, great ambassadors

Snowmass is my favorite ski resort in CO. The lines in April are practically non-existent and the runs are super long, wide and diverse. The Snowmass/Aspen ambassadors are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and fun to ski around with. Snowmass Village is fun for an afternoon and downtown Aspen is a short 10 min drive away and offers more dining choices and diversity.

Awesome skiing; apres ski; all around fabulous vacation!

We loved our week in Snowmass. We traveled the last week of March, so no lines, great snow, no crowds. There were a few things we missed.... no snow shoeing or cat dinner events. They were done for the season. But if you want to ski, have great snow, find deals on shopping and equipment... late March is the time to go! We are a family of 4; Mom and Dad plus 2 boys (12 and 15.) It was really nice that the lifts shuts down around 4PM so you can re-group and enjoy the evening.

Beautiful Ski Resort

As with any ski vacation having perfect weather and conditions is always critical; we enjoyed 2 days of fresh powder and 2 days of sunshine. Amazing resort with a great variety of terrain and open spaces for skiing. Will definitely go back again.

Epic Vacation

9 night vacation. Last plane landed due to high winds. So thankful. First three days out were severe clear and warm temps. What better way to start our trip. Then we got 7 inches of snow one day and 3 the next. Epic conditions. Mountain was not crowded and what a treat that was compared to NE skiing. We were 2 blocks from the Village and enjoyed trying the various restaurants. The bus system is spot on and that was great not having to rent a car. A memorable trip and we plan on returning for perhaps a month the next time! Whooohooo!

If you are thinking about taking a ski vacation over any major school break holiday and have not considered the Snowmass ski resort and Aspen, you really should. If you are driving from Denver, the extra few hours you spend traveling in the car will be regained by shorter lift lines, shorter restaurant waits and you will be rewarded with fanatically groomed slopes. If you are flying, the extra expense can sometimes be made up by not paying for airport transportation from Aspen airport to Aspen or Snowmass. Plus, the Aspen airport is the most convenient airport of any ski resort. Make your life easier by shipping your luggage and renting ski and snowboard equipment. With early fall snowstorms paving the way for a snowy winter, you should be tempted by now. Book your trip to Aspen/Snowmass as far in advance as possible to take advantage of discounts and best availability.

I love Snowmass. It has something for absolutely everyone. With 3,128 acres and wide cruiser runs, it is such a blast. There is also extreme skiing terrain, mogul runs, and gladed terrain. Snowmass has several terrain parks and is very family friendly. The Treehouse Kids Adventure Center, for example, with its “parents free” zone, will keep the kids entertained and happy so mom and dad can have a break. Snowmass was designed to be a ski-in/ski-out resort and it has a large inventory of lodging right on the slopes. The resort is owned and operated by the Aspen Skiing Company, so I can ski all 4 of the Aspen area resorts on one ski pass. These include Snowmass, Aspen, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. More skiing than anyone can tackle in one vacation! Call me today and let’s discuss a trip to Snowmass.
