A lack of crowds and a dedicated 10 percent of Schweitzer’s 2,900 acres designated as green terrain makes Schweitzer a great destination for the beginner skier. While 10 percent may not sound like a ton of beginner skiing it certainly feels pretty big when you’re not vying for space on the slopes and waiting in lift lines. Plus, all the Schweitzer beginner terrain is located at the base of the mountain, which is always nice for beginners who are timid around intermediate and expert skiers. The beginner terrain is located off the Musical Chairs lift and provides beginner with a couple of ideal wide-open, gentle slopes.
