    About Red Mountain Resort

A Red Mountain ski vacation combines convenience with deep, dry snow and exciting, varied terrain. The ski area is considered by some as one of the last great undiscovered resorts. Located in laidback Rossland, B.C., Red Mountain is situated in the Kootenay region, just two hours from Spokane International Airport. Since the first recorded powder turns were taken back in 1896, Red Mountain has been able to retain the charm on which its reputation was built.

In 2013/14, the resort expanded lift access to Grey Mountain, previously backcountry, hike-to terrain. The expansion adds 997 acres, bringing the total skiable acres to 2,787. Skiers and boarders can now access Grey Mountain via chairlift and ski 360-degrees from the peak's summit. The Grey Mountain expansion makes Red Mountain the 8th largest ski area in Canada.

    Ski Red Mountain

Red Mountain should be top-of-mind for powderhounds and experts looking for playful terrain, with consistent fall line slopes, and a slew of cliffs, spines, and stumps to launch off. The 6,807-foot Granite Mountain acts as a center piece for experts on a Red Mountain ski vacation. With a favorable snowfall history and plenty of North-facing tree runs, Red Mountain skiing is typically a deep affair. Experts looking for accessible backcountry or sidecountry ventures will be pleased with the resort’s offering in Mount Roberts, Record Ridge and Kirkup.

Intermediate skiers have a host of long blue runs to choose from, off the top of Granite’s Motherlode chairlift. Intermediates and beginners alike will find even more terrain options on the Paradise side of the resort, making Red an incredible option for a family ski vacation, especially if younger children are just learning to ski, and parents are looking for some world-class powder skiing.

As a home mountain to many of the world’s best freestyle and freeride athletes Red Mountains terrain parks pack quite the punch. Red Mountain offers tricksters nearly 30 features from small to extra-large.

Good Terrain for Experts, Lots of Glades with slow lifts to rest your legs

Used a guide (ski instructor) to learn where and how to ski Red Mtn. Worth the money and we skied lots of terrain for 3 hours and were able to navigate the Mtn the rest of our stay. Expect to zip around on greens to get to the various lifts and all the terrain - glades and steeps. Could use more than Paradise restaurant on the mtn so you don't have to go the base for lunch. Nice glades above Paradise. Everyone is friendly and helpful, Prices are reasonable and even better with the exchange rate.
