It's currently an exciting time to be in the mountains. In the past week, I traveled from Jackson Hole to Breckenridge to take some turns with leaders of various ski clubs from across the country. This event was a welcomed opportunity for me to be reminded of that unparalleled feeling you get when your skis' (or snowboard's) edges grip corduroy harder than a vice as you fly down the side of the mountain. Next, as the group left for Keystone, I instead made my way to Beaver Creek to check out the Birds of Prey World Cup Downhill where U.S. skier Bode Miller just missed the podium by taking fourth place. Now, as I write this from our Aspen office, the snow is falling and the snow guns are blasting. It's just as things should be.

Speaking of snow, there is a lot of it to talk about. Whistler Blackcomb recorded the snowiest month on record with more than 18 feet falling in November. Lake Tahoe just received 36 inches, Snowbird just received a foot, Colorado is expecting up to two feet over the next few days and there is snow in the forecast almost every day in Jackson Hole. I guess that means I'll have to get my new fat skis mounted and ready to roll for the season!
