Meribel Ski Resort

A Meribel ski vacation serves as a quaint, laidback access point to the never-ending terrain of France’s Trois Vallees.  The only way to truly appreciate the size and scope of the Trois Vallees (Three Valleys) area is to compare it to a collection of biggest North American ski resorts; combine Whistler, Vail, Squaw and Jackson Hole, and then throw in Breckenridge and Killington, and you'd still have room left over in Trois Vallées. You could spend a lifetime exploring the limitless peaks and valleys, and partaking in lunch, espresso or a class of fine French wine at  \Trois Vallees many charming villages.

A special case among big French resorts: this modern well-equipped resort has retained its traditional Savoy-village, making it an incredible destination to experience French Alpine culture on and off of the mountain. Meribel is an exceptional place to dine, shop and just peruse the pleasant streets. The most recent buildings respect the rules of the traditional architecture, perfectly fitting to the chalet-style setting.

A Meribel ski vacation grants you access to the Trois Vallees resorts, which include Courchevel, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, La Tania, and of course Meribel. Cross-country skiing is also popular in the 3 Vallees Region. Non-skiers can also enjoy the breathtaking heights and never-ending vistas, thanks to a special six-day pass including cable cars, gondolas and shuttle bus between Meribel, Courchevel and Brides Les Bains (which offers a casino).

Ski Meribel

There are trails for all abilities from wide, gentle well-groomed slopes for beginners, to steep trails with moguls to challenge the experts. The sheer size of the Trois Vallees terrain ensures that experts, and every other skier or snowboarder has ideal terrain. Specifically, Meribel’s Mont du Vallon, Mont de la Challe, Tougnete and Ecureuil have a lot to offer—long, fast, steep cruisers to moguls, and notable off-piste areas. The extensive snow making system guarantees good snow on major trails leading to the resort. For off-trail skiing, we recommend a guide who will take you to untouched slopes to ski your heart out.

Advanced intermediates and experts alike will enjoy cruising down the 1992 Olympics women’s downhill run. The vast majority of Meribel, and the Trois Vallees area for that matter, is best left to intermediates. Nearly every single chairlift off every single mountain has a world-class blue or red run, making Trois Vallees one of the most intermediate-friendly places in the world. Meribel’s Altiport area provides beginners and first timers with ideal terrain. Rond-Point also provides some gentle green runs for new skiers and snowboarders.
