The only ski school of its kind, the North American Ski Training Center (NASTC) is a total immersion, multi-day, all-inclusive, performance ski school for intermediate to expert skiers based at Lake Tahoe. NASTC’s trainers are all Examiners/Clinicians and/or on the National or Regional Demonstration Teams for the Professional Ski Instructors Association (PSIA). Their backcountry guides are fully certified with the AMGA. NASTC offers all-conditions/all terrain adventure skiing, snowcat skiing, helicopter skiing, avalanche courses, women’s clinics, kids’ camps, instructor certification, backcountry skills, dry land training and even summer rock climbing. NASTC is dedicated to providing upper level skiers with the best instruction and courses available at the world’s best mountains. NASTC runs more than 25 ski courses at 18 resorts worldwide. Courses are available 10 months per year, ranging in duration from one to 12 days, and in price from $298-$4480.

Embark on a unique backcountry adventure into the Donner Summit wilderness. Ski out to Lost Trail Lodge located six miles northwest of Squaw Valley. This beautiful, rustic lodge is nestled deep in the woods and is only accessible by skis or snowshoes. We will depart from Donner Summit and ski some amazing lines and terrain. You will get feedback on your skiing and learn advanced backcountry skiing techniques.
Join some of the top female trainers in the country for an unforgettable women’s skiing adventure in the Grand Tetons. During this three-day course at the beautiful Grand Targhee Resort you will explore the resort and embark on a cat skiing adventure in the Grand Targhee backcountry. With the Grand Tetons as a backdrop, Grand Targhee is a beautiful resort with amazing ski terrain full of Western charm and hospitality. This course is designed for students to learn untracked powder technique at their own pace. It is also for the avid and already proficient powder skier who wants to perfect and improve their technique and receive great coaching while skiing amidst their favorite medium – fresh powder! This is a weekend of great skiing and fun times with just the girls.

Avalanche I Course – Truckee, CA – February 7-9
This is an AIARE certified avalanche training course. The avalanche level I certification focuses on the knowledge, methods and decision-making skills necessary to travel in avalanche terrain. You will receive an introduction to avalanche hazard management, learn how to recognize avalanche terrain and develop a framework for decision making and risk management. The course also covers search and rescue techniques and a practical application of the material covered in the course.

Avalanche II Course – Truckee, CA – February 20-23
This is an advanced avalanche safety course that builds off of the level I course and adds to evaluation factors critical to slope stability analysis. This course will therefore go more in depth on the contributing factors to slope stability, such as snow layers, type of snow and metamorphosis of the snowpack. You will also achieve an understanding of avalanche release triggers and be introduced to a forecasting framework. This course also includes an on-snow practicum portion.

All Conditions/All Terrain – Squaw Valley, CA – February 24-27
Site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, this mountain is as big as its reputation. Don’t let the sight of “Headwall” intimidate you as you come up the road – this mountain has something to offer everyone. Squaw Valley has grown up quite a bit since its early days playing host to the Olympic Games. Squaw has 34 lifts, a gondola and a tram to High Camp, its mid-mountain station, restaurant and swimming pool. Its expansive terrain has been breeding great skiers on its wide open faces, long consistent groomed runs, steeps and chutes galore. Get those bad habits fixed once and for all and experience this majestic mountain to the fullest.

Steep and Deep – Silverton, CO – March 4-9
Silverton is “Big Mountain” skiing at its best. Designed for avid powder skiers, this course takes you into the heart of Colorado’s silver mining country where you will ski epic terrain and receive coaching to take your off-piste skiing to the next level. Silverton is not your typical resort; there is no groomed terrain available. What you get instead is fresh untracked powder over and over again. At Silverton you leave all the glitz and glamour and hustle and bustle of resort skiing behind and enjoy the purest skiing experience ever. To sum this trip up: it is an epic skiing adventure in the Colorado Rockies with big mountain skiing terrain and lots of powder set against the backdrop of an old Western mining town.

LUNA Chix Sweet Turning/Salsa Burning – Squaw Valley, CA – March 12-13
Let the LUNA Chix of NASTC take you under their wings and coach you to new heights in your skiing at the world-famous Squaw Valley USA. This course is a step-by-step progression designed to get you skiing the entire mountain well, whatever the conditions. The fun doesn’t stop there. In addition to making sweet turns at beautiful Squaw Valley, we are going to virtually transport you to the faraway lands of South America. After skiing hard all day with your trainer, we will take your senses on a fiery tour of South American culture and flavors with an exquisite dinner/cooking lesson and salsa dancing! European Ski Adventure in the Austrian Alps – St. Anton am Arlberg – March 13-22

Departing from Sugar Bowl to access the Donner Summit backcountry, this course will take you through some of the most picturesque areas of the Tahoe/Truckee backcountry. You will be introduced to the use of touring skins and bindings, practice using an avalanche beacon and probe. We will touch on basic route finding and how to read “nature’s billboards.” This course is also a great opportunity to ski some really sweet lines and hopefully some fresh powder, too!

Mt. Shasta Summit – Ski Shasta, CA – May 30-June 1
Experience the thrill of climbing to the top of Mt. Shasta (14,162 ft.) and skiing down 5,000 vertical feet on this famous California volcano. Led by the top guides from Shasta Mountain Guides, you will learn mountaineering and backcountry skills and receive feedback and coaching on your skiing. This is an amazing feat to have underneath your belt.

Summer Dream Skiing – Portillo, Chile – August 14-24
