Nice property close to everything
When I visited Grindelwald, I was struck by how expansive this property was! This hotel has a great location near the lifts, and is reasonably priced for its location. I personally loved how close it was to the First lift – it’s literally just a stroll across the street. Sunstar is one of the few chain hotels that exist in Switzerland, so it’s a touch more modern but slightly more impersonal than a family-owned hotel. The Sunstar Alpine Hotel has 217 rooms and has a huge main restaurant to enjoy your breakfast in. Connecting rooms are a possibility in this hotel as well, which is a great plus if you’re traveling with your family!
Great Value and Location
I just returned from the Sunstar Grindelwald in the Jun Frau, which is a great value and full service hotel. The large lobby invites guests to linger and get to know fellow travelers/skiers. The hotel does a weekly welcome to guests. It's great for large families, couples or single travelers. Affordable half board meal options with dining in multiple restaurants within the hotel offers great value to guests. Enjoy their traditional Stubli for Fondue, a regional favorite.
Views of the Eiger will cause you to pause and admire the scenery. This hotel has large indoor pool, full spa and is walking distance to the Fist Cable Car for skiing, and the rail station for upper Grindelwald and Wengen ski resorts. Both regions are included on the Jun Frau ski pass. Access to the Jun Frau Joch observatory "The Top of Europe" and Interlaken can all be reach from the rail station.
Overall a great location and easy access to expansive skiing. I'll definitely be back.
