Ski Deer Valley Resort

This skier’s-only mountain has been annually ranked by SKI Magazine as one of the top resorts in North America for good reason: personal experience is king at this high-end ski resort. The resort limits the number of lift ticket sold daily to just over 7,000, while its actual uphill capacity tops out near 50,000. So you can bet that crowded slopes and long lift lines won’t be an issue during your Deer Valley ski vacation. You’ll feel like you have the whole mountain to yourself while you explore Deer Valley’s 2,000 skiable acres of bowls, glades, wide open groomers, and the trails which hosted the 2002 Winter Olympic mogul, slalom and aerial events. Deer Valley’s terrain is perfectly divided up, 27 percent for beginners, 41 percent for intermediates and 27 percent for experts, so every type of skier in your family or group will find plenty of terrain to explore.

Note: Deer Valley Resort requests “no snowboarders please.”

Great Experience

Love the Deer Valley experience. It's first class all the way. The lifts all have the comfortable foot rest and the lodges are superior for anything that might be needed.

The Best Western Resort for Eastern Skiers

Let's face it, we grew up skiing the white ice of Mid-Atlantic and New England ski areas. Deep powder intimidates us. Deer Valley understands this and grooms almost all the intermediate, advanced intermediate, and even a few black diamond runs. Most other black diamonds and double diamonds are left to the powder hounds and mogul experts. We like the distinct areas of the resort; you can choose the exposure and elevation that you want. As many reviewers have said, the on-mountain food is great. For a real treat, stay at the Stein Eriksen Lodge!

Super Resort

Ski school was great and 3 kids 13, 12, 10 yrs old loved the experience. Staff very friendly and food at lodge was good but a little expensive. The free ski storage was great. Truely the best place to ski with a family.

Great for Families

This was our first time at Deer Valley and it was everything I heard it was and more. It has an incredible ski school with very personal attention to each child. Our children took group lessons and made friends and learned to ski! The service is topnotch -- making skiing with young children much more enjoyable! And as an intermediate skier, it tons of wonderful intermediate runs. The only con is that there are limited things for a non-skiing family member to do.

Wonderful place

This was my third trip to Deer Valley, and I may never go anywhere else. I'm an intermediate skier, and there are many, many wonderful blue trails to explore. The staff is outstanding, and the complimentary overnight ski storage is a huge plus. Oh, and the food is great. And, I like the fact that no snowboarding is allowed. Only downside is the price.

I like skiing corduroy, and Deer Valley uses more grooming equipment to produce it than any of its Wasatch Mountain range neighbors. It is located next to Park City and Canyons Resort, and only about 36 miles from the Salt Lake City airport. I love the upscale lodging, high-touch service and the awesome skiing, but don’t bring your snowboards here! Deer Valley is one of the last holdouts that still prohibits snowboarding. I don’t worry about crowds though, as Deer Valley has one of the highest uphill lift capacities of any of its neighbors and it limits its total daily ticket sales to match its capacity. If you are like me and appreciate a stress free luxury vacation Deer Valley should be at the top of your list. Call me today and lets discus the options.
