I need help buying skis
Hi, my name is Cole I am 20 years old and im looking for some skis to fit my style of skiing. Im having trouble finding something that will do what I want them to do. I'm 6'0" 195 lbs, I am in very good physical condition and I ski aggresively. I like to ski fast groomers, the back bowls, and I'm getting into the park alittle. I've demoed several skis but I havent found one that will do everything. I still want to be able to go fast enough to get yelled at and be able to jump a cliff in the bowls. I've tried the Rossi Scrath and I dont really like how fat they are in the waist. Ive tried the 05/06 Volkl superstar allstars I believe is what they were called (they were black). I loved  them I could fly down the groomers they were very snappy which I liked, but they just werent wide enough for deep powder. I also tried the Rossi B3 and hated those altogether, the last pair I tried was the Salomon 1080 foil. They were good for powder and the park, but they were too soft and not fast enough for me when I was on the groomers. So If anybody has any imput I would love It, Im kinda stuck on what to buy. I've heard the Volkl Karmas are amazing Ive just never got to ride them yet. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Re: I need help buying skis

I was in the same boat a few years ago.  I'm a tad taller and lighter.. same trouble.. wanted an all terrain ski that could handle crud and still scream down the steep but smooth trails.  tried dozens.  ended up with K2 Axis Pros but a little longer than what a shop would recommend for me.  (I used to ski 205s!!)  Whatever the newer models are, try a normal length on bumps and powder and then see if the longer version gives you the more stable fast groomers performance.  Worked for me!  plenty of floatation, snap, AND high speed stability.
