With the 2014 Winter Olympics quickly approaching everyone is anxious to see who will be representing the U.S. in the Winter Games. It’s a very exciting time for snowsports enthusiasts. Many of the athletes, like snowboarding’s Shaun White, of Northstar, Calif., and alpine racing’s Lindsey Vonn, of Vail, Colo., we’ve watched accumulate medals year after year, but with four years between  each Game, there’s always a fresh crop of Olympic hopefuls.  This year, the U.S. appears to have strong chances for Olympic medals in events like Alpine racing, Snowboarding Halfpipe and  new events, Snowboarding Slopestyle, as well as Freeskiing Halfpipe and Freeskiing Slopestyle — Freeskiing will be showcased in the upcoming Games as a newly sanctioned winter sport. And with a new event comes a new gamut of names and faces to remember. Here’s a guide to some of the U.S.’s most promising young athletes, including where they spend their time training and skiing/riding, because who knows — you just might see them on your next ski vacation.
