The countdown is on. We only have a few more weeks until most Western North American ski resorts open for ski season. Jackson Hole, ranked No. 1 by SKI magazine readers for challenging terrain and No. 3 for it’s charming Western character and incredible eateries, opens November 27 and has been generating some serious buzz around the quickly approaching season with the release of a new video and an Instagram photo contest.

Jackson Hole enjoyed an incredible winter last season. The Wyoming resort saw more than 100 inches fall in 22 days on its renowned slopes, and more than 400 inches total for the 2013/14 ski season. Snow storms are tough to forecast months in advance, so it’s difficult to know exactly how the 2014/15 will shakedown for snowfall, but after watching this video and experiencing the resort for ourselves last season, we’re putting our money on the fact that Jackson Hole will produce tons of smiles for skiers and snowboarders this ski season.

If that didn’t get you amped up to shred Jackson Hole’s famous steep and deep terrain, these photos will. For its second season in a row, Jackson Hole has used the #JHDreaming Instagram hashtag to get skiers and snowboarders excited about the winter ahead and the results have been great.

Here are some of the best #JHDreaming photos:
