About Crested Butte

That kind of deal is hard to pass up especially when combined with Crested Butte’s iconic terrain and vibrant ski town culture. Crested Butte is one of those places that you’ll never forget and will want to visit year after year once you’ve been there. Everything from the center stage views of the rugged Mt. Crested Butte to the mining-town-turned-ski-town vibe in the historic Victorian downtown to the base village and town’s unique and memorable dining and nightlife options make Crested Butte an archetypal destination for anyone looking to experience skiing, snowboarding and mountain living at its roots.

The ski resort is one of the birthplaces of extreme skiing and a home mountain to many big mountain and freestyle pro skiers both past and present. In fact the first X Games events were held at Crested Butte. The iconic lines in Teocali Bowl, The North Face, Spellbound Bowl, Third Bowl and the Headwall area will please challenge-seekers. But there’s much more to Mt. Crested Butte than double-black diamond skiing and riding. Crested Butte also brags some incredible intermediate and beginner skiing, too. With 44 percent of the ski area designated as blue terrain, intermediates have their run of this incredible mountain.

Boasting a kid’s terrain park, jib park, terrain park and Superpipe, Crested Butte is sure to please the aspiring park skier or rider in your family or group.  On-mountain, Crested Butte literally caters to every terrain predilection, ability level and age group. Off the mountain it’s no different. Foodies and night hawks will find restaurants, historic saloons and lively nightclubs sure to fit their preferences and budget.
