Ski season is already underway in the Northeast. Thanks to favorable snow-making conditions, Vermont’s Killington opened yesterday, October 18 and Maine’s Sunday River opened today, October 19. The two resorts are among the first in all of North America to start the bullwheel for the season. This impressive opening date marks one of the earliest in nearly 20 years for Sunday River, so the resort is celebrating with $29 lift tickets for all ages.

The countdown is still on for the rest of the New England. We’re hoping that early openings at Killington and Sunday River (and early snow across much of the region) can only mean that other New England resorts aren’t far off. As we get more information, we’ll update this post with new opening dates. In the meantime, we comprised a list of projected 2015-16 opening dates at top New England ski resorts and their latest snow photos.
