Hotel Pic Blanc 3* (SATA)

We have stayed in many ski hotels throughout Europe and the Pic Blanc was very disappointing. The staff were not friendly or helpful except for the bartender and a gentleman on the day shift at the desk. Our room was substandard- very small, uncomfortable bed and very out dated decor. The maids did not clean. They made the bed and gave us clean towels but did not take dirty glasses that were there for a week. We had to ask for toilet paper and lightbulbs. There were no amenities-only liquid soap-no shampoo or lotion. The dining room was freezing, especially at breakfast. When people complained they just said that was the way it was. Breakfast was exactly the same every morning-no variation at all. Sometimes we had to ask for food to be put out. Dinner was okay but nothing like you would expect in France. We never made friends with the wait staff like we usually do on our trips. They were not engaging or friendly. The bar was also cold and uninviting. A huge fireplace that we saw in pictures was not working and a tiny gas log was placed in there instead which did not throw any heat. The pool was cold, the jacuzzi not hot. The sauna, however was warm and a pleasant surprise. On our last night we asked if we could have breakfast before we left since our bus was departing at 6:20am. The evening staff told us and some others that they would have breakfast for us at 5:30am. When we came down the next morning-nothing was there. The guy at the desk reluctantly made us coffee. When we asked for bread he said he couldn't get any. So needless to say we were very disappoointed. We have always booked our trips with Adventure on Skis and had great hotels. I would hesitate to book with you again if this is the caliber of the properties that you use. Michele
