Have you skiied Zermatt lately?

If you skiied Zermatt last year, please comment on your trip.  What mistakes did you make that we (4 of us) can avoid?

Re: Have you skiied Zermatt lately?

Hi Richard,

Ski.com agents are very familiar with Zermatt and have been there recently.  Give them a call to ask any questions and get a price quote on a vacation package for you that can include things like air, lodging, lift tickets, transfers, equipment rental, etc.                  800-778-8589.  If you get out there, come back and tell us about it.

Zermatt is one of the more, if not most, up market ski resorts in Switzerland. Make sure you have enough money for drinks and meals,

The Italian side skiing is a lot noisier and busier than Zermatt. If you are only going for 6 days, the Zermatt ski pass can be upgraded for a day. If you intend skiing more than one day in Cervinia, get a ski pass for both sides of the mountain first time.

If you are going  to ski in Cervinia, leave early, take the first cable car, as the car is pretty full from 9h00 onwards with long queues.

The toilettes at the top station are pay toilettes. Either make sure you have coins or go before ascending.

Whilst in Zermatt, take a day trip to Saas Fee Awe some drop of 1800 meters from 3500 in about 20 minutes of comfortable ski-ing. I believe the Zermatt ski pass can be upgraded from this year for Saas Fee.  Leave early

Once having ski-id in Zermatt, the chances are you would want to go again.
