Need Utah-related advice (PLEASE HELP)
I'm going to Park City next week (March 9-16). I plan on skiing the Canyons for at least 2 days, Snowbird for 1 and Snowbasin for 1. I'm having trouble deciding on whether I should ski a day at either Deer Valley or Park City Mountain Resort. I've skiied at PCMR before and wasn't that impressed but I didn't hit any of the bowls. I looked at Deer Valley's trail map and see a lot of black diamond runs serviced by high speed lifts. I guess I'd like to know which resort has the better terrain. I've skiied all over the West (Utah included) and ski mostly black & double blacks. From what I've read, Deer Valley sounds like a resort full of groomers-but places like DV usually have uncrowded steeps. If so, is it worth the price of a Day ticket. All answers appreciated.

Re: Need Utah-related advice (PLEASE HELP)

Hi Bill,

I was just in Utah about three weeks ago and skied both Deer Valley and Park City. While Park City does offer some great expert terrain, I would suggest trying Deer Valley. Because they are known for their incredible groomed terrain, they are often overlooked by expert skiers. However, there is a ton of great expert terrain there. And, because people don't realize it, it's often untracked.

Let us know what you decided to do and how the trip went!

Dan
