The September issue of Skiing features an article on page 61 titled “Dropping the Gloves.” A question is posed to skiers Julian Carr and Anthony Boronowski asking if cliff drops from more than 100 feet are a natural progression of the sport, or a senseless game of human lawn darts.
Carr states that everything is meticulously planned from start to finish, but it’s ultimately not as hard as it looks because the snow is essentially a 15-foot-thick powder pillow.
Boronowski likens huckers to drag-car racers saying that monster hucking is the most mindless niche of the sport.

I just saw Warren Miller's Off The Grid on Friday. Jamie Pierre was there because that 245 foot drop was in the movie. I have to say it was pretty insane. If you've seen it let me know what you think. I'm sure there was a lot of recon being done to make sure it was safe, but Jamie just kind of freefalls like a mannequin and lands somewhat on his head.
Don't get me wrong, I think what he did was awesome, but is the ability of today's skiers solely defined by their guts?
Personally I think anyone can freefall like Jamie 245 ft, 300 ft, even 400 ft. Just depends on a two factors.
1.) Landing area and how much pow your landing in
2.) BALLS. thats right it takes a sh*t load of balls.
The highest ive ever gone is probably somewhere between 50 and 70 feet *last week at crystal WA* (Not to impressive i know)
However let me tell you this, it was F*ck&n scary. Didnt hurt at all though just a real soft landing
